This summer planting of turnips replaced the artichokes we had already enjoyed. Your yard can produce more than you might imagine.

Donate to re-localize food production, reduce our carbon footprint, and help our community members eat really well.

We’re also happy to support the historical-fiction-in-progress through fiscal sponsorship of White Handkerchiefs and Red Apples (working title), describing the journey of Kathy’s grandfather from the New York Foundling Home, via Orphan Train to rural southwest Iowa, and his lifelong search for love, home, and family. Donations made specifically for that project will be used exclusively to cover costs for research and eventual publication. Watch for more information soon!

Sponsor workshops to help keep workshop costs reasonable for those learning to farm their yards, or to provide a scholarship to someone who qualifies for need. Contact Kathy to discuss levels and benefits.

Donate through Venmo - @BirdsBeesUrbanFarm if that works for you. To send a donation by mail, checks can be made to Birds & Bees Urban Farm, and mailed to 735 19th St., Des Moines, IA 50314.
